13.2 Virtual tour video does not use audio description (H)
13.2.1 WCAG 1.2.3 (A), 1.2.5 (AA) - Desktop
‘The Arch’ student accommodation page includes a video which provides a virtual tour of the accommodation. This video tour does not include any audio description or text transcript and therefore it is inaccessible for users with visual impairments.
For a similar issue see Embedded videos do not use audio descriptions or text transcripts (H)
A text transcript helps people who have difficulty perceiving visual content. For blind users, assistive technologies can read these aloud.
Users who have difficulty understanding the meaning of visual content can read this at their own pace and deaf users can read text.
13.2.2 Recommendation
If you intend to use video on your site, you must provide an alternative for time-based media that presents the equivalent information for the video content, including text transcript and audio description. This should include an accurate and complete description of the audio content including all speech, identify all speakers and describe any other meaningful sounds.
