1.12 LJMU logo does not help users identify link destination (M)
1.12.1 WCAG 1.4.5 (AA), 2.4.4 (A) - Desktop
When the user navigates to the LJMU logo with a screen reader activated, it is announced as ‘logo graphic visited link’. This link takes the user back to the homepage, but the destination of the link is not announced to the user.
Screen reader users who navigate between interactive elements only hear the text of each link. Therefore, link text should be meaningful and identify the purpose without visual cues.
1.12.2 Recommendation
Ensure that the user knows where the link will take them. For example: “Liverpool John Moore’s University logo- redirects to homepage”.
